Langue appartenant au groupe indo-iranien de la famille des langues indo-européennes, l’Ourdou est parlé dans le Nord de l’Inde, ainsi qu’au Pakistan, dont il est la langue officielle et le support de l’identité nationale. En Inde, il est une langue reconnue par la Constitution. Il s’écrit avec l’alphabet perso-arabe modifié pour répondre aux besoins linguistiques spécifiques.

Ibn-e-Safi (or Ibne Safi) (Urdu: ابنِ صفی) (Hindi: इब्ने सफ़ी) was the pen name of Asrar Ahmad, a best-selling and prolific fiction writer, novelist and poet from Pakistan.
The name Ibn-e-Safi is an Arabian expression which means Son of Safi, where Safi means chaste, righteous, fair, loyal and frank. He wrote from the 1940s in India, and later in Pakistan after the partition of British India in 1947.
His main works were the 126-book series Jasoosi Dunya (The Spy World) and the 120-book Imran Series, with a small canon of satirical works and poetry. His novels were characterized by a blend of mystery, adventure, suspense, violence, romance and comedy, achieving a massive popularity across a broad readership in South Asia.
